Whether you are 15 or 45 treating acne can feel like a full time job.
There’s the initial redness and inflammation, the itching, the reoccurring acne breakouts, and of course the constant reminder that you suffered the pain and aggravation of it all, the resulting acne scar.
Unfortunately getting clear and blemish free skin may feel like it’s out of your reach, as every breakout is different.
It’s frustrating but, there is a way to treat acne scars naturally. You may not know it… but acne starts within your liver! When your liver fails to switch off an over production of androgens (a hormone produced by your adrenal gland and sex gland), this hormone stimulates your sebaceous glands.
It activates pores under your skin to secrete an oil substance called sebum. Instead of the production of sebum being deactivated once you have produced enough oil to keep your skin and hair healthy, sebum production continues, and circulates in your blood stream resulting in overly oily skin.

Plus those options may not be the healthiest or safest.

First, we recommend you strengthen your liver and balance your hormones. The best way to do this is to eat a diet high in good fats and essential fatty acids.

The acne healing effect of virgin coconut oil is doubled once you add it to your daily diet and use it topically as it will work from the inside out.
- Coconut oil contains large amount of lauric acid and fatty acids that can fight off overgrowing acne bacteria and neutralize free radicals.
- Coconut oil is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-viral which helps to prevent bacterial infections.
- Coconut oil mimics your skins natural oil with less of a chance of clogging your pores. Your skin won’t work as hard to produce excess sebum … which will help decrease overall acne breakouts.

How to Treat Acne Scars with Coconut Oil
Simply apply a very thin layer of coconut oil to clean skin to treat the affected areas 2-3x a day.
You will see a lot goes a long way! It may look greasy at first, but give it a little time to be absorbed up. Try it on a small section of the affected skin first, to see your reaction, and then proceed from there.
Remember to eat virgin coconut oil daily as well for the most effective treatment.
Start out slow with 1 tablespoon of virgin coconut oil spread out throughout the day. Break it up… take a little with breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Once your body gets use to the oil after a week or so you can up the dose to 2 tablespoons (spread throughout the day). Eventually you can increase to 3 tablespoons spread out throughout the day.
Depending on the existing toxic load built up in your body you may experience a breakout when you first try coconut oil. Don’t be discouraged. It just takes time to get those nasty toxins out of your body. The more you have the longer it may take.
That’s why it’s recommended and more of an effective treatment to eat coconut oil to help clear toxins.
This allows your body through bowel movements to expel toxins and provides beneficial antibacterial fatty acids to your skin cells in addition to using it as a topical treatment.
